Playa Blanca Marina, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain

The appeal of Playa Blanca on the Canarian Island of Lanzarote has diminished slightly since the advent of Marina Rubicon which is just a mile or so across the bay. Because of all the facilities that Marina Rubicon can offer Playa Blanca has reverted primarily back to a commercial port for the Fuerteventura ferries, tourist boats and the local fishing fleet. Tourism still plays an important part to the local economy and there are plenty of cafes and bars. A new 7km promenade has been created from Playa Blanca towards Punta Papagayo. The marina offers good shelter but the wash from the ferries can be annoying. Most marinas in the Canary Isands are just a day sail away.

The two regular ferries from Playa Blanca, Fred Olsen and Armas, operate to nearby Fuerteventura which is just a 30 minute journey and inexpensive. Other Canary Island Marinas can be found on World Marine Guide
