The 48th Annual Antigua yacht Charter Show, held at the marinas of English Harbour and Falmouth was declared huge success attracting record numbers of participating yachts, charter brokers, sponsors and exhibitors, giving not just a boost to the local economy but a positive "kick start" to the 2009/10 Caribbean yachting season.
There was little talk of world recession on the docks at this year’s show that hosted an entry of 93 of some of the world’s most high profile charter yachts, and once again has helped keep Antigua firmly on the map as one of the most important Superyacht destinations in the world.
With hotels in the English Harbour and Falmouth area fully booked, restaurants packed and marine service companies profiting from the early season boost of business, it is undoubtedly the marinas who are the biggest beneficiaries of this year’s high show attendance, and next years show dates have already been announced as the 6th to the 11th of December.

The Cape verde Islands have always been a popular departure point for trans Atlantic Yachts and now World Marine Guide have added the achipelago to our growing list of marina locations.
The islands lie off the coast of Africa and the archipelago is formed by 10 main islands and about 8 smaller islets. Of these, only Santa Luzia and five islets are uninhabited. All the islands are volcanic, but an active volcano only exists on one of the islands, Fogo. The largest island is Santiago where the capital Praia is located.
We are now collecting information on the marina Melindo which will be added to www.worldmarineguide.com shortly. Of course if you have any information on this or any other marina on the Cape Verde islands please let us know. To add a marina click here
