The popular and excelent Club De Mar Marina In Palma De Mallorca has been added to World Marine Guide's list of marinas. This well run marina has many facilities and for both yacht and crew and makes a great base for exploring the Balearic Islands.
Palma de Mallorca is on the northern coast of Palma Bay and the marina is situated in the cities busy commercial port and just a short walk away from the city centre. If you have any photos of the marina or its surronding area we would love to hear from you contact nick@worldmarineguide.com

After our blog about the James Bond style Boat/Submarine Triton Submarines have launched a two million Dollar submarine aimed at the super yacht market, so now you can be a Captain Nemo.
The two passenger submarine which was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show has been successfully tested down to a depth of 1000 metres. It has 360 degee views from within an acrylic passenger compartment and can manouver at about 3 knots. Whoever decides that this is a must for their yacht will also get a two week intensive course on how to operate the craft.

The 2012 Olympic Sailing venue in Doset has been completed and the marina has already hosted its first event. The 3,400sq m of land which was a Royal Navy Helicopter base was redeveloped at a cost of £10M and took a year to complete.
The centre has been praised for its enviromental acheivments after a very good rating under the BREEAM enviromental assessment. Three wind turbines will produce 10 percent of the centres power, locally sourced stone was used in the construction as well as employing local subcontractors where possble.
G&H development and construction manager said "Portland Marina is a project that will be showcased to the world in 2012. G&H has been honoured to construct such a high profile, flagship project and is one that Dorset can be proud of.

Bridge marine marina has been recommended to World Marine Guide. This small but friendly marina is set in the heart of the English countryside and provides extensive repair services aswell as being the main Suzuki dealer.

Italy has been added to the World Marine Guide website with two new marina on the island of Sicily. Marina di Cala del Sole and Portarosa Marina have been recommended but we would like to hear from anyone who has more information on either of these marinas.
Sicily is a great yachting destination but until recently the marinas have not been of the same standard as others in the Mediterranean. Cala del Sole is brand new and still under construction while Portarosa is a modern marina in a new residential development. To view the Marinas click Sicily
